London-based Caspa, who once stood as pack leader of the new breed of international dubstep artists back in 2007, has since transformed into an internationally revered figure within the genre. As founder of bass music focused imprints Storming Productions, Dub Police and Sub Soldiers, and early spokesman for the new, global dubstep sound with his debut release in 2006 and iconic FabricLive.37 album with Rusko in 2007, Caspa has continued to stand as a prominent influence within dubstep’s extensive and multifaceted history.
Resurfacing with a vengeance for the first time since 2014’s earthshaking 500, Caspa introduces his newest solo body of work, the Vibrations series. As a continuation of Caspa’s ever-refined, stripped-back broadsword bass vision, Vibrations recently launched with the moody, burly tones of “Umbongo” and continues to lay down serious dark vibes with “Venom.” Making a statement with its heavy bass growls, thoughtful use of space and shape shifting grooves, “Venom” is a track designed for total dancefloor detonation. And with at least six installments expected from Caspa’s Vibrations series, the tremors have only just begun. Pick up your copy here.
