Hard to believe it’s been five years since Artificial Intelligence released their debut album, Stand Alone, on V Recordings. Having since solidified their position as a world-class production duo capable of rolling out the deep and sexy vibes just as effortlessly as they deliver on the dark and heavy side of things, we were more than stoked to find out that they were deep in the lab working on their second album for Metalheadz.

Nearly a year has passed since talk of an album began circulating, and as the London duo begins to let the first audio from their aptly titled Timeline project out into the world, it’s obvious that they are in top form as they look back across the years and promise to draw upon their own love of everything from Chicago house to early jungle.

“Pass The Buck”—featuring DRS on vocal duties—is the first cut off the sampler and is already causing a stir. The monstrous roller has not only earned the coveted Friction’s Fire slot on BBC Radio1, but has racked up over 17,000 listens on SoundCloud since an audio rip of the show surfaced nearly a month ago.

The flipside of the sampler features a dream collaboration between SCAR and Artificial Intelligence as the two crews come together to form a four-headed beast that is simply unstoppable. “Letting It Go” is the title of this one, and it features the perfect mix of soul with just enough dirty bottom-end to bring that bassface on.

Both tunes offer an impressive glimpse into the full spectrum of the vibes that the album is expected to deliver. With the first sampler dropping on October 30—quickly followed by a second one on November 6—be sure to lock your pre-orders in now and keep your eyes and ears peeled for more details ahead of the full LP release on November 20.
