It’s hard to keep track of the L.A.-based, speaker vibratin’ duo known as Barely Alive as they’ve been tirelessly zooming through cities alongside Excision on his Paradox tour. As if 2017 hasn’t already been epic enough, the duo return to OWSLA with an all new projected titled the Domain EP, and let’s just say you’ve been warned—this one’s a brain-rattler.
The EP should come as no surprise for those in the know, as the leading single “Back to Back” was released on OWSLA last year. Still, the EP showcases the distinct bass heavy sound Barely Alive has become largely known by on tracks like “CA$H” and “Elastic Nightmare.”
The pair shows off a mellower side with “Kickin’ It,” a tune that sucker punches you right in the gut with an energetic bassline before an energetic rinse-out keeps you on your toes. Closing out the EP, the pair collaborates with the cheesy monster known as Habstrakt on the trap-inspired “Gumby.” It’s an effortless collab that showcases the best of each artist on a massive tune!
