What So Not & Skrillex “Goh” (Champagne Drip Remix)
“I’m going to start out by shamelessly plugging my remix of ‘Goh’ by Skrillex and What So Not. Given the 170 BPM tempo of the original, I was inspired to do something with elements of drum and bass. I had been listening to some Ivy Lab at the time so I thought I would take a bit of influence from that and put my own harder signature on it.
Eprom & Zeke Beats “Humanoid 2.0”
“This track has been a crowd favorite in my sets. I was a huge fan of Eprom’s ‘Humanoid’ that came out in 2010, so it was really exciting to have this throwback.”
Liquid Stranger “Hotbox” (PEEKABOO Remix)
“This track is absolutely devastating whenever I play it out. It holds the inertia of a freight train and I’m always a sucker for ‘call and response’ tunes.
Shlump “Authentic”
“This is just one of many Shlump tracks that have been favorites. This has a unique sort of heavy energy that only he can create. He’s also had some of my favorite sets all year. Be sure to catch him at an outdoor festival if you get a chance, you’ll be blown away.”
Kompany “Stomp”
“This track does what it says on the tin or your money back. This stomper has been so much fun to play out like all of the tunes on this list. The sound design in it is extraordinary and carries the track in a sort of push and pull that rolls forward with ferocious energy.”
NGHTMRE & Dillon Francis “Another Dimension” (YOOKiE Remix)
“I love the throwback hardcore rave stabs and vocal sample nod to early ’90s Prodigy. When this drops its a fake-out gnarly homerun. Again with my favorite ‘call and response’ patterns, too.”
Herobust “Move Mint VIP”
“This track might be the biggest track in any of my sets this year which is surprising because I’m usually playing for bass music crowds and this is steadily four on the floor. The sound design and way this track was mixed thumps like no other. Herobust always comes correct with the production and this might be one of the finest exemples. Pure energy.”
Noisia & Prolix “Asteroids” (Noisia Remix)
“This flip of one of my favorite Noisia tracks opens up the mix and introduces more modern cleaner sound design. The way the main mid-range sound transforms throughout the tune on its polyrhythmic bounce makes it extremely hypnotic.”
Liquid Stranger & Space Jesus “Dragonhawks”
“This track is a weird psychedelic bass fan favorite and is always so much fun to drop. The raptor screech at 1:48 might oddly be my favorite part of the track. Makes me laugh a little every time.”
Champagne Drip “Axis Mundi”
“I’m wrapping up this playlist with another shameless plug. ‘Axis Mundi’ is one of my favorite tracks I ever produced. I wrote it in a few hours and knew that I stumbled across something special. It’s deep, mysterious and transcendent. My ideal brew of strange psychedelia.”
