South Africa’s finest makes a proper debut on Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats imprint with an early glimpse as what his forthcoming Quarter Inch EP is due to deliver in April. We’re talking about the ever-impressive Chee of course and the lead single to the forthcoming EP is the long-awaited “Vultures” which has been bubbling as an ID in the sets of heavyweights like Liquid Stranger, Eprom, Ekali, G Jones, Mr. Carmack and more.

As Chee tells it: “This song means the world to me, it’s a body of work I‘ve made that blends the world of dance music that people love and experimental energy that resonates with me emotionally. Two worlds that collide that fits like a puzzle. I hope you guys enjoy it, a journey, a stomper and a mind-bender.”

Pushing boundaries right from the get-go Chee lives up to his stated vision for the cut, blurring the lines between left-field leaning psychedelia and straight-up dancefloor destruction. After a hypnotizing ambient intro clears the pallette and slowly, patiently builds its way towards the pit of fire at the core, once the tune proper gets underway the distorted bass and twisted vocals rising and falling from the mist make for a cinematic tour de force sure designed to fry the synapses and get the body moving in all kinds of ways.

Currently in the midst of a 65-date run with Subtronics on his Cyclops tour, Bassrush fam should also be looking out for Chee to touch down and deliver an extra-dose of heat to the bassPOD at EDC Las Vegas this year. Until then, let the heavyweight vibes of “Vultures” hold you over as this one is out now and can be downloaded/streamed here.
