Codename John Turns 'Avenger' For Metalheadz

Two unmatched forces in D&B team up: the legendary Metalheadz label and DJ Grooverider. To say Grooverider’s incoming Avenger EP has been long desired would be an understatement. Groove’s not so secret pseudonym, Codename John, yields breakdown-heavy, steppy and dark-tinged dancefloor D&B. “John and Tony” pay tribute to Scarface with gangster dialogue and erratic heavy bass. Title track “The Avenger” captures a nostalgic jump-up vibe, accompanied by funky shuffled drums. “Saviour Selector” serves up distorted bass and metallic swingy beats. 2015 proves to be a huge year for Grooverider, as it marks 25 years of sharing the airwaves and decks with long-time partner in crime, Fabio. Check out the Avenger EP available on vinyl and digital via pre-order exclusively at Metalheadz, to be released May 4.
