Following his Cyberpunk EP release earlier this year, the underdog who’s been causing a ruckus on territory of heavy bass music known as Cromatik returns to London-based imprint NSD: Black Label. With each subsequent release, the young Austin-based producer brings his glitchy, heavyweight basslines to life and creates a fresh and innovative approach to bass music that’s welcomed by the masses and head honchos alike. His Invasion of Chaos EP pushes the boundaries of the producers work while satisfying any seasoned basshead out there.
Cromatik warms up with a sinister introduction for the title track “Invasion Of Chaos,” properly hinting at absolute destruction ahead. Just then, the gritty basslines the producer has come to be recognized by make their mark through two mind-boggling drops. “Boss Fight” comes correct with an infectious energy introduced right from the jump while keeping up with an upbeat bassline that keeps those bodies rockin’ from start to finish. Moving back to the to the core of the producer’s sound, “Doom Tomb” unleashes a rampant aggressive sound that comes for blood, sinks its teeth into listeners, and keeps control to the very end. Closing out the project, “Breach” offers up a wobbly melody with a bass drenched bassline that lives true to the producer’s artistic abilities.
