We’re always excited whenever news breaks of heavyweight artists collaborating in the studio, but when we heard of the unique pairing of Delta Heavy and Dirty Audio, we knew we were in for a treat. With each artist representing Ram and Monstercat respectively, the resulting hands-in-the-air bassbin burner, “Stay,” is the perfect merging of the vibes that each imprint and artist are known for delivering.
With a slow-burning intro designed to bring on the goosebumps and cinematic vibes, the untouchable vocals of Holly pave the way for the dubstep, trap, and drum & bass mashup that follows at the drop. Rolling out with the flashback stomp of drumstep at its peak, each artist brings their signature sounds to the fore as the beats bring on the pulse-pounding rhythm and the high-octane hook keeps the listener spellbound throughout.
“Stay” builds upon a discography that includes remixes for the likes of Zeds Dead and Kaskade, while Dirty Audio’s own dominance on the bass music side of the dancefloor has led him to chopping it up with the likes of Deorro, Steve Aoki, and The Chainsmokers.
With Delta Heavy preparing to crush it in Amsterdam next week at the Bassrush-curated Monstercat Uncaged stage at the ADE Festival (full details and tix here), “Stay” couldn’t have dropped at a better time to get us hyped and in the mood. Even if you don’t have your passport and tickets ready to roll, ease your FOMO by putting this one on repeat and snagging your own personal copy of this heater here.
