The youngblood DNMO continues his well-deserved ascent into the stratosphere with this jaw-dropping collab with The Arcturians. Exploding onto the scene at only 16 years old, DNMO was not only tagged as one to watch from Billboard and Soundcloud but has got on to ride that fine line between drum and bass and the bass music scene at large. With remixes for the likes of Zeds Dead, Kill Paris, KRANE, and Sub Urban, it’s easy to see that DNMO’s vision is pushing the genre into new territory.

His return to Deadbeats with The Arcturians features both crews at the top of their game. Centered on an unstoppable vocal, “Without You Near” brings on the emo vibes in a way that has us thinking this one is destined for crossover anthem status. With a pop-driven sensibility but the unmistakable DNA of drum & bass driving the energy at the core, this guitar-laced dreamer brings on the feels and even swerves into a little halftime moment after the second drop that is everything.

As DNMO tells us: “We started writing this song in March last year when the pandemic was announced and the whole world went into lockdowns, and ended up sitting with it for a few months like you do with a lot of records in the works. In the last few months of 2020 I was listening back to the demo and I felt that the lyrics had aged and became so much more prevalent in what the last year has been for so many of us. I finished it up and decided we should put it out in January so that the lyrics ‘had a shitty day, a shitty week, a shitty year’ would have truly earned their meaning.”

With the new year upon us and hope for a better year to come, the tune couldn’t hit at a better moment so lock yours in here as this one drops today via Deadbeats.
