Dorian Brings on the Voodoo Magic
Dorian Brings on the Voodoo Magic

The Vienna-based Dorian brings on the heat once again with an impressive and diverse four-track EP for the hometown crew Mainframe Recordings. Continuing to drop jaws across the board with his ability to flex on a number of styles, the young Austrian has come up fast with releases on imprints like New Playaz, Gun Audio, Switch!, and Hangar, while the likes of DJ Hype, The Prototypes, S.P.Y, and Rene LaVice have been raining down their support.

Enter the Ritual EP, which serves as a kind of show reel for the producer’s capabilities as he barrels headfirst into festival season with four cuts that range from ruff and rugged killers to blissed-out stargazers. Bits like “Worlds” and “Hypnos” reveal a deeper side of Dorian that lifts the listener into hypnotic territory but with just the right touch of darkness lingering at the edges to keep things grinding for the heaviest dancefloors.

“Ritual” stands out as a tech-tinged zombie thriller that will not only have the dead shivering and shaking in their graves, but the track brings on an epic groove that paves the way for the hefty roller known as “Breeze.” Sprinkled with just the right touch of old-school flavor, this crunchy stepper marches its way to the drop with inimitable style before cutting the bottom end loose and lighting up the dance proper.

It’s a massive look from both Dorian and Mainframe, who continue to impress with each and every release. Drops tomorrow worldwide so be sure to keep your eyes and ears peeled!
