Enter 2018 and this collaborative effort featuring the filthy jump-up master Macky Gee on deck proves that the Bristol-based bad man has no plans of easing up any time soon. Stripping the DNA of the original “Freaks” down to its core elements, the collaborative duo slowly build it back up bit by bit until the new hybrid beast that emerges from the lab lives up to its name.
With a repeating vocal hook from Sharlene Hector that hints at the soul-driven nature of the original, don’t expect nothing less than the kids to be bouncing off the walls when Macky Gee drives it all home with his signature warbling jump-up bassline shiver.
