Since it was first released, the SnailedIt! mix series from the Montreal-based Snails has become one of the artist’s most highly coveted and eagerly awaited projects. Not only does it seem to transport listeners to center stage as the Vomitstep king drops monster bass-bombs on the dancefloor, but the fact that it’s rammed with unreleased cuts from Snails and his “close producer friends” makes for a trainspotter’s heaven as tune after tune straight from the hard drives of the scene’s heavyweight elite is often debuted.
This time around the SnailedIt! mix is a 38-track, 50-minute, hair-raising ride through the heart of ‘Slugz City’ with Snails as our guide. Expect nothing but the heaviest, gnarliest cuts from heads like Skrillex, Excision, Datsik, 12th Planet, Party Thieves, Jauz, Ghastly, Eptic, Flosstradamus, NGHTMRE, and more. The list reads like a who’s who in the bass music scene. The full tracklisting is still a mystery as Snails only released artists’ names at 150k plays and has slowly been filling in track titles at every 25k plays beyond that point.
Even if you’re not the trainspotting type and just want to lose yourself in the beats and basslines, the mix offers a glimpse into the kind of session you can expect when Snails and friends stop by a city near you on their “Enter Slugz City” tour set to pop off in the New Year.
