Since their start in 2013, the UK-based trio known as Gentlemens Club have burst into the scene and flipped it upside down with their impeccable sound design and UK influence to the genre. Between 50 Carrot, Coffi, and Soloman, each producer brings a unique flare to their production under Gentlemens Club, and the group has proved to be nothing short of unstoppable, as their latest project, the Black Gold EP, can attest.
Opening up the project is the ominous “GhostRide,” which lures you in, then quickly builds up and plummets into the heavier side of bass music before letting up for some room to breathe. Just when you thought you had a proper grasp on things, the second drop sucker-punches and finishes things off stronger than ever. “Little John” follows up with another haunting intro before dropping into a glitch heavy drop that sinks it’s teeth into you in the best way possible before “Big Rings” brings the energy with an unrelenting bassline that’s meant to shake you right to the core! Closing things out proper, “Format” comes in hot with its high-energy intro that warns of the mayhem to come in the form of its ruthless jabs that hit in all the right spots. This one is not for the faint of heart!
