Eatbrain’s newest recruits, French production duo and live act Bl4ck Owlz, aim impress with their debut release, Face Scraper. Five savage tracks make up the EP, which starts off with the unbridled title track featuring the Clamps. The collaboration unsurprisingly shreds with neck-snapping energy and morphing, mechanical synths.
The dark and daunting “Bot Factory” dips and rises with bendy synths and chaotic edits while “Bucket” gets straight to the point with steadfast drums along with the runnin’ “Big Sample Theory.” Creeping in to deliver the final blow, “Primal Call” unleashes an eerie yet exhilarating groove centered on steppy drums and a chest-rattling low-end.
