InsideInfo Takes it Deep and Deadly with His Debut LP

The long-awaited debut album from Viper Recordings’ own InsideInfo is finally upon us, and we couldn’t be any more excited. Since he first touched down on the imprint nearly 10 years ago, the ever-impressive InsideInfo flexes on all fronts on his LP of the same name.

While drum & bass forms the heart of the project as well—as providing the fuel that ignites the fire at the core—there’s no doubt that InsideInfo is pushing genre boundaries and showcasing an evolved sound that suits the long-player format perfectly.

Name-checking vocalists should give you an idea of the scope of the album, as everyone from Bleed From Within’s Scott Kennedy, Fable, MC Jakes, Tasha Baxter and MC Miss Trouble surface throughout, lending the album a sheen that is impossible to replicate. Dancefloor grooves are still front and center as InsideInfo charts a course from tech-driven heaters like “Spychase” on through to deep and deadly cuts like “2 Minds.” But it’s left-of-center bits like the exotic “Num Num” featuring tabla musician Aref Durvesh that captivate and make this one an album worth sitting with from start to finish.

With InsideInfo and label-mate Cyantific prepared to handle their biz at the Viper takeover of Bassrush’s own Funktion night at the Belasco on April 19 (tickets available here), this one’s a primer for the drum & bass masses looking to chart a course into the future.
