It’s a YOOKiE Takeover on Deadbeats

The New York brotherhood known as YOOKiE continue to stomp their way towards the end of 2017 with yet another scene-stealing crusher in the form of “Intruder Alert.” Featured as the lead single on Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats Compilation 2 album project, the duo cap off a massive run over the past few years that has them collaborating and remixing heavyweights ranging from Dillon Francis, Skrillex, Black Tiger Sex Machine, and The Chainsmokers.

Still, it’s their original tunes that continue to drop jaws as “Intruder Alert” has been crushing it behind the scenes all summer long. As Zeds Dead tell us, “This track has been a staple in our sets since early this summer and the second drop is a beast!”

When asked how the track came together, YOOKiE reveal the almost-cinematic vision that propelled the track to completion: “We had this crazy visual of a dark warehouse with red alert lights flashing and just general chaos, so we wanted to capture the feel of that madness in a track.”

By all accounts they’ve succeeded on all fronts as the haunted groove of the intro is enough to put listeners in the danger zone. The intro loop on repeat would be more than enough to keep us interested but the crew turns the screws with the drop and a minimal chest-thump that has to be experienced with the crowd heaving at your side to be fully realized.

What about that signature high-pitched scream that sets the pace and brings on the goosebumps? “We wanted to pack the atmosphere and panic of a break-in situation in with that.” When Zeds Dead came calling and said they wanted to feature the tune as the lead-in to their Deadbeats Compilation project, the crew knew they had found the right home.

As the label bosses themselves tell it, “YOOKiE really set the tone for the rest of the compilation and it’s where we’d love to see bass music heading.”

Consider yourself warned as YOOKiE’s “Intruder Alert” is out now as part of Deadbeats Compilation 2—so cop yours here.
