Prestige Music Group is adding yet another release to an ever growing catalog and reputation for putting out solid d&b selections. The talents of DJ/producer Joakuim render a mesmerizing single setting the perfect vibe with warm analog sounds and smooth rolling beats. Bassrush caught up with the French but Mexico based Joakuim legally known as Joaquim Plossu to learn more about his relationship with the Los Angeles based Prestige Music crew.
“I’ve been following Prestige for quite a while. Both of the tracks were the first ones I made in my new studio. I don’t know the room that well yet but recently I’ve had plenty of free time to dedicate myself to do what I like the most: making music.”
Both offerings are unique in their own way with “Spring Roll” evoking classic jazzy d&b vibes while “Can’t You See” explores deeper more minimalist atmospheres with clicky and snappy percussion. Keep ‘em peeled for the release due early September.
