It’s hard to believe that only a few short years ago, Hayden Capuozzo, better recognized by his stage moniker, KAYZO, graduated from the now infamous LA-based ICON Collective with a mission take on the dance music arena. Now, the Houston native has worked tirelessly to make his name known and has become one of dance music’s most influential producers in the game, earning him well deserved recognition across the globe. Somewhere in the midst of flourishing as a producer and DJ, KAYZO has launched a hugely successful brand by the name of Doghouse, further proving that his influence in dance music is here to stay.

For most fans, though, KAYZO is known for his ability to break down sonic barriers while refusing to commit to genre limitations, instead taking inspiration from a wide variety of music he grew up listening to. That being said, it should come as no surprise that the young producer teams up with the Italian emo punk rock band XO Sad for “Fake Fake Fake,” set to bridge the gap between rock and electronic music.

Opening the track with angsty vocals courtesy of XO Sad, “Fake Fake Fake” seamlessly transitions to a buildup that warns listeners not to be fooled by first impressions. As the anticipation builds, KAYZO sucker punches with a beefy bass drop that stuns on impact before giving XO Sad the spotlight once more. Just when you thought “Fake Fake Fake” doesn’t have any more tricks under its sleeve, the second drop goes right for the jugular with an even heavier drop before the vocals take hold once more, closing out with some serious emo feels.

“Fake Fake Fake” is out now on Ultra Music and hints at more rock collaborations to come within the year. If you like what you hear, make sure to grab your copy here and make sure to catch KAYZO later this month at Escape: Psycho Circus 2018.
