Kumarion not only continues to impress with his unique take on the drum and bass genre but pushes the boundaries on his two-track WAKAAN debut dropping tomorrow, August 16.
While both tracks lean in with a mix of deep, experimental basslines and an exotic Eastern flex, the shivering hypnotism at the core remains true to the dancefloor and is sure to have you and the squad begging for more.
As Kumarion tells us: “[Both tracks were] written with an eastern-world flare to it. ‘Resonate’ is a more up-beat tune where I exploit the resonance knob on the filters to get different harmonic tones of the same note. ‘Shaman’ is a darker tune where I use a repetition of the same sound design patch but run through different distortions to get unique version in each individual section.”
Currently on the road with with fellow Stateside drum and bass killa Reaper pushing their epic b2b sessions, Kumarion is due to drop in at a number of festivals in the coming months so don’t be surprised if these Liquid Stranger-approved cuts make the rounds in both the dnb and bass music circles.
To give you a sense of the kind of otherwordly halftime-influenced sizzle Kumarion has on deck, Bassrush has locked in an exclusive premiere of “Shaman” that you can sample below before locking in your own copy of the full release here.
