That’s not a typo, that’s the way our British brethren spell “ton” across the pond, and the title couldn’t be more spot on as the ever-essential L Plus drops a full on atomic bomb on the dancefloor in the form of his One Tonne of Bass EP for Technique Recordings.
“Jailbreak” is the standout of the bunch, one that’s been rinsed by Friction and causing all sorts of dancefloor mayhem with its multi-stage drop and sucker-punch kick into the tune proper. The title track packs a serious punch as well, with a deceptively atmospheric intro dipping into a funky groove centered on earth-shaking bottom end. “Arcade” delivers some quirky flavor as the electronic bleeps echo old-school arcade games before being swept up into a full on screamer that shotguns its way to the drop.
Never one to forget the underground, L Plus offers up the dark and dirty “Snitch” for all the warehouse warriors out there shunning the limelight of the massives and curling up in the bassbins at their favorite local haunts. With a proper dystopian vibe running things from top to bottom, this technoid thriller is an impressive twist on the usual L Plus sound.
It’s out now so be sure to lock and load this one for maximum dancefloor damage.
