As the ever-essential Deep Dark & Dangerous imprint prepares to drop its 100th release, this slow-burning heater called “Known Enemy” from Mesck and Woven Thorns leads the way.

Dripping with sci-fi cinematic atmospheres from the get-go, the sick and twisted turn at the drop conjures up visions of shadowy figures coming to life and grinding their way into the light. With the rib-rattling bottom end keeping things grounded on the dancefloor, the call and response between the layers prepare the listener for a face-melting interdimensional journey to the edges of consciousness.

Pulled from the forthcoming DDD100 album that consists entirely of collaborations between artists who have work with the label, this one offers a glimpse into the power the full 24-track 43-artist LP is sure to deliver when it drops November 11.

To hold you over until then, check this exclusive Bassrush premiere of Mesck and Woven Thorns’ “Known Enemy” below and be sure to lock in your own copy of the single which drops tomorrow (Nov 4) here.
