Up-and-coming Stateside record label and events series, Noctem, stands as a blossoming dubstep platform dedicated to celebrating deeper sounds while simultaneously pushing ingenuity and reveling in individuality. Planting impenetrable roots within Denver’s burgeoning dubstep scene, Noctem is poised to supplement the health of the already fruitful worldwide genre with a carefully calculated lineup of forthcoming releases, with its cardinal release featuring Basiclee, The Widdler and Max Mischief quickly approaching the horizon.
Noctem’s first EP release, Maximus Versions, is a four-track collection featuring two tunes from California-based producer known for his heavy basslines and swinging percussive prowess, Basiclee, backed by two remixes from scene heavy hitter The Widdler and label head/founder Max Mischief.
In Maximus Versions (NOCTEM001), Basiclee twists up a VIP of his absolute smasher “Maximus,” rife with his signature grooving percussion and heavy hitting sub pressure that is sure to cause a commotion on any dancefloor it touches. Adding fuel to the fire, The Widdler and Max Mischief each infuse their own unique take on the original mix of “Maximus,” serving wonky and deep versions of the tune in their own rights. The fourth and final cut on the EP entitled “Uprize” is a fresh Basiclee original that displays even more impressive rolling percussive elements contrasted by exemplary synth work that is both dark and bubbling.
Maximus Versions (NOCTEM001) will be available exclusively on April 13 through Noctem’s bandcamp.
