PhaseOne Transcends With Debut LP

Disciple’s superstar PhaseOne has finally released his debut LP, Transcendency, and it’s a total blockbuster, sporting some of the edgiest dubstep we’ve heard all year. Ten epically written tracks grace the album, along with a proper intro, outro and interlude track. Touching on all corners of bass music, PhaseOne flaunts his production chops with enormous collabs like “Lost” featuring Koven and “Ultima” featuring the legendary hip-hop act, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.

Pound for pound, Transcendency packs a huge punch and is a fitting body of work for the confessed metalhead. Case and point, his collaborative track with the US-based metal band Periphery on “Digital” which goes hard af with a relentless synth and full throttle guitar intro. Additionally “We Are The Free” with Australian metalcore band Thy Art Is Murder masterfully fuses vocalist Chris McMahon’s brutal screams with a sneaky drop and fierce arrangement.

Dubstep purists will enjoy “Demon Hunter” with none other than Subtronic—a straight up headbanger anthem—and be sure to check out his solo offerings like “Headstone” and “Insanity.”The whole album is pure sound design chaos and not for the faint-hearted. If you haven’t already, stream it here on Spotify. Out now on LA’s finest bass brand, Disciple.
