2016 has seen the release of some pretty hefty D&B bangers, so who better to consult with on the matter than the chart-dominating duo The Prototypes. Having steadily crept into the ears of D&B heads for a few solid years, the hard-working pair have recently wowed fans with the announcement of their new imprint, Get Hype Records.
Bassrush had a quick check-in with boys ahead of their inaugural EDCLV performance at the bassPOD—as well as their highly anticipated appearance at the Viper Live takeover of Funktion in Los Angeles the following week—where they were kind enough to give us a peek into their own playlist.
Joe Ford “Let It Out” (Shogun Audio)
Probably our favourite tune at the moment. [Joe Ford is] very talented young man with a huge future.
Black Sun Empire & State Of Mind “Thug” (Blackout Music)
As you can tell by the artists involved and the name of the tune, it’s a real heavy hitter, not for the faint-hearted.
Drumsound & Bassline Smith “The Truth” (Technique Recordings)
This one bangs. Hard. [They are] one of the most consistent production outfits in the scene. Never left the set.
The Prototypes “Pale Blue Dot” (Calyx & TeeBee Remix) (Viper Recordings)
Had to put the Calyx & TeeBee remix of our track in; they absolutely smashed this one.
Document One “Small Steps” (Technique Recordings)
Doc One delivered that bouncy tech bassline with ease. Sounds so good in the mix!
