Uplifting and melancholy at the same time, the arpeggiated synths and ethereal atmospheres form the foundation for yet another impressive missive from the uncompromising vision that Bensley continues to cultivate.
While it may not be the rinse-out dancefloor pressure that the average punter expects from Ram Records, there’s something more intricate at work that pulls you in and won’t let go. As NASA’s Juno spacecraft begins to orbit around Jupiter, we can’t help but feel that this is a perfectly timed single on Bensley’s part, as “Outsider” feels like the perfect soundtrack to the alien and yet majestic images being beamed back across the void.
