[Premiere] Freek “Remedy”
[Premiere] Freek “Remedy”

Each and every year the Ram Records crew announces the release of their annual compilation album, and each and every year we are blown away by the size and quality of the behemoth collection that features the hottest tracks of the year. To celebrate their 25th year in the game, the Ram Records 2017 Drum & Bass Annual is bigger than ever, weighing in at over 60 tracks from all corners of the drum & bass scene.

Whether you’re gunning for cuts from label boss Andy C, scene stalwarts like Break, Noisia, Shy FX, Bad Company UK, Camo & Krooked, the Prototypes, and Wilkinson, or new-school heavy-hitters like Dimension, Urbandawn and Voltage, there’s something here for everyone.

From milestones that capture the past 12 months to fresh offerings from the likes of Sphere, Flowidus, North Base, Crissy Criss, Erb N Dub, and Malux, you know the Ram fam ain’t holding nothing back! To get a sense of what we’re talking about check the following premiere of one of our favorite cuts off the compilation from the London-based Freek.

Opening things up with a dark and brooding intro, this liquid-tinged, vocal-driven bubbler is the sure cure for those late-night winter blues. Shivering percussion drives it forward while the bassline holds it down and vocal lyricism like the title hook, “sometimes music is my only remedy,” are sure to have that booty shaking and head quaking.

This one drops Friday so be sure to lock in your 4CD, double vinyl, or 61-track digital download preorder here.
