Having established its reputation as a breeding ground for the very best of new-school and old-school producers alike, this past year has seen AudioPorn hit its stride as release after release keeps dropping jaws across the board. With an aesthetic that leans towards dark wall-rattling warehouse vibes, artists ranging from Benny L to High Maintenance have kept the imprint bubbling with the label boss (and all-around drum & bass legend) Shimon making a long-awaited return to center stage with a series of his own contributions to the cause.

Take the latest single on the imprint as Shimon taps newcomer Trimer for a pair of heavyweight cuts designed to bridge old-school vibes with the new. The production values are exquisite and the dank vibes at the core of both “Gollum” and “Scaredy Cat” are sure to have the heads swarming on the dancefloor.

Still, if you’re looking for the perfect cut to bring on the late-night shivers, the aptly titled “Scaredy Cat” is the one to hit. Landing just in time for the long haunted nights on their way in the month to come, the grinding groove and goosebump-inducing atmosphere of this one combine in such a way as to make for an epic dancefloor experience. Like a rabid beast waking from a long slumber, the tune twitches and turns with just the right touch of fear and anger, as the cinematic intro paves the way for a growling bottom end keeps things locked and loaded for the crisp cascade of breaks on the top.

It’s a massive look for the AudioPorn crew, one that has us not only eager to hear more from Shimon and Trimer in collab mode but to see what else the label has up its sleeves in the coming months.
