Bass heads swarmed in from all over SoCal, traveling en masse to the Quantum Stage at the NOS Events Center to help bring in the New Year, Bassrush style! Featuring a lineup stockpiled with some of bass music’s finest—as well as the return of PK Sound’s Trinity system—the Quantum stage kept the energy strong all the way into 2016!
Our very own drum & bass heavy hitter Nightstalker took the stage to kick the night off with some high-energy beats and vocals featuring MC Dino. Keeping up the stamina, Fallen rolled up and paved the way for the massive two hour back-to-back featuring Cyantific, Mob Tactics and InsideInfo, who left the crowd wobblin’, sweaty, and hungry for more to come.
Bringing together the opposite spectrums of bass music, Megalodon and Truth mixed heavy dubstep and tribal beats for their unique back-to-back. “We’ve only played sets like this twice before and it’s basically been something along the lines of pretending we are playing in a bedroom together. It’s really more like an improv set,” said Megalodon. The crowd didn’t miss a beat as the duo switched gears between deep dubstep tunes like Datsik’s “Firepower” and heavy bass monsters like Megalodon’s “Light Up” as headbangers rejoiced. “I was pretty much moshing to banger after banger in the pit through their entire set,” said one of the partygoers.
Next up, Minnesota and G Jones took control and had the masses poppin’ off with some hints of ill trap just before Metrik and TC knuckled up and kept it heavy with more drum & bass vibes. The high-energy rinse outs switched up the pace and kept the crowd on their toes!
Swoopin’ in for their epic back-to-back, Eptic and Habstrakt served up some relentless bangers for the bass-hungry crowd that packed the Quantum Stage from wall to wall. The duo kept the masses jumping in sync before the raw bass hit keeping the headbangers in full force with some of their heaviest tracks of 2015. Keeping it heavy, the two served up nothing short of unruliness featuring teasers like the unreleased VIP cut of their single “On the Block.”
Next up, one of the most anticipate sets of the night, Cookie Monsta and FuntCase, stepped up to the decks just in time for the countdown and properly welcomed 2016! The duo straight wrecked the crowd with gut wrenching beats prompting a series of massive, untamable mosh pits that would go in full force for their hour-long set rammed with fan favorites. “The best set of the night had to be that Cookie and FuntCase back-to-back. What better way to rage to the New Year? My neck is going to hurt tomorrow,” an attendee named Tanner shared with us. Closing out the night, Delta Heavy kept up the endurance by unleashing a relentless series of massive bass that kept the crowd moving to the very last beat of the night!
All in all, it was probably the most epic way to ring in 2016—with a night full of sweat and bass! Seeing all of our bassheads pile out of the warehouse, smiles plastered over each and every face, confirmed that this year is going to be a massive one for Team Bassrush! Stay tuned!
