Rhodz “Gimmick” (Far Too Loud Remix)
Rhodz “Gimmick” (Far Too Loud Remix)

The genre-bending French producer known as Rhodz offers his Fading Horizon LP up to a wide range of artists for the remix treatment with the resulting cuts spanning from prog house to breaks. But it’s this moombah-tinged glitch-hop revisioning of “Gimmick” from Far Too Loud in particular that caught our ear and has us earmarking this one for the dancefloor.

From the turbocharged stomp that kicks this one off all the way through to the cascading breakdown that dumps us into the shivering groove proper, Far Too Loud continues to impress with his ability to flex on all fronts.

As Far Too Loud tells us, “I initially picked the track as the vocal sample stood out as something I wanted to play about with and chop up. At the same time, I was pretty set on doing a 110 bpm moombah-core thing, as it had been about two years since I did anything at that tempo and I wanted something fresh in that style to play out. It all came together pretty naturally with this one, the idea just flowed out.”

Don’t just take our word for it, check the remix below and cop the rest of the remix project here as this one drops on Tasty today.
