The Israeli-born and raised duo known as RIOT are celebrating 10 years since they started the project with a massive three-track EP on Bassrush Records.
Aptly titled, ‘In Case of Fire’ the sizzling three-tracker draws upon their own diverse influences in the bass music spectrum. From the gangsta-leaning “Shank” to the drumstepping heavy-hitter “Sharp Shooter” all the way through to the skull-cracking “Back Twista”, RIOT continue to push the boundaries in all the right ways.
As RIOT tells us: “During COVID, we hit a point where we felt exhausted creatively. We felt that something needed to change. We went on a quest to explore new avenues and sounds. We owed it to ourselves and to our fans. Something about the hybrid of Hip-Hop and Dubstep just felt right. That’s how this EP was born. It’s groovy and super fun for us both to produce and listen to. It’s different from anything we put out before and we’re excited to see how the fans will react to it!”
With releases on Monstercat, Dim Mak, and Insomniac records, collaborations with the likes of Kayzo, Slander, and DirtyPhonics, and massive remixes for Infected Mushroom, Knife Party, and Pegboard Nerds, the duo are no strangers to the spotlight. And yet, it’s obvious that the pair have a renewed sense of energy and vision that is powering them forward into the next chapter of their already illustrious career.
