Sectra Assures Listeners that ‘You Don’t Know What Pain Is’

In a genre that revels in its dark, ominous and bass heavy personality, dubstep producer and DJ Sectra holds the torch for concocting some of the scene’s most foreboding, monstrous beats. The Chicago native turned recent Denver transplant excels in a special kind of dubstep; the type that takes the sheer chaos and impact of noise, static and feedback and creates just enough order within it, aided by pulsing baselines, incidental melodies and sparse percussive patterns to keep listeners following along. The universe of well-ordered mayhem that Sectra weaves into each track has resulted in the construction of his overall unique musical perspective within the 140 spectrum that oozes raw, sinister and unforgiving vibes…not for the faint of heart.

Sectra’s latest release comes in the form of a four-track EP entitled You Don’t Know What Pain Is through the Denver-based label FringeWorthy, the second release from the label following Ulmo’s six-track Pieces of Loathe. Coming from a heavily felt emotional place, Sectra’s newest collection of beats showcases the producer’s potential for creating impactful and equally idiosyncratic music with heavy force and thick vibrations.
