Standing as both a record label and a crew comprised of deeply nurtured artists, Slug Wife has been carefully crafted to push its collective, unique sound to the bass loving masses. Composed of some of bass music’s finest talents—Reso, Seppa, Kursa, K.L.O. and Broken Note—Slug Wife practices first and foremost musical integrity and respect for the fundamental role artists play in the world of music; as the collective strongly believes that each one of its artists should be treated as an independent entity, yet entirely equal. By allowing each producer to rightfully retain full creative freedom in their work, Slug Wife has set out to continuously break boundaries in music production and encourage more to follow suit. For the Slug Wife collective, it’s all about fun without compromise and a heavy emphasis on groundbreaking music that moves its listeners.
Slug Wife’s latest signing, Seppa’s 12-track debut album, More, stands as a sonic journey, taking listeners from the darkest atmospheres and dancefloor destroyers, to jazz-inflected hip-hop grooves. After a string of iconic EPs and collaborations under his belt, Seppa has put together a selection of tracks representing the broad scope of his sound. With the release of More, Seppa continues to prove himself a steadfast figure when it comes to musical creativity in electronic music fueled by experimentation, creative malleability and meticulous personal standards. Wielding staggering sound design prowess and a knack for aggressive arrangements, Seppa continues to progress forward not only within his own sound but the genre as a whole, as his style intelligently fuses half-time drum and bass with hip-hop rhythmic motifs and neuro textures.
