The big boss known as Shimon returns to center stage with the ever-essential Trimer at his side for four-tracks of low-slung dancefloor pressure. While Shimon has perhaps become better known to some for his role in curating the AudioPorn sound, his days as a label boss only hint at the legendary status he has who know what kind of anthemic heat he’s been kicking since the OG glory days of drum and bass.

For the aptly titled The Killers EP, Shimon locks horns with the new-school assassin known as Trimer who brings a proper dark edge to the proceedings. Known for his ability to crush it on the sound design front, Trimer’s link with Shimon has produced some of his best work to date as the pair merge their unique sensibilities into a haunting, throbbing, explosive mix of filthy cuts destined to keep things bubbling on the dancefloor all year long.

To get a sense of what the EP is offering, Bassrush locked in a premiere of the title cut, “Killers.” Drenched in film noir vibes and a hair-raising cinematic attitude, the tune wastes no time in letting the listener know what they’re in for as the dark and deadly intro gives way to a breakbeat driven groove that can’t be fucked with. From the solid step and punch of the drums to a shivering top end that seals the deal, the real treat comes in the form of the sweeping atmosphere and melancholic horn stabs.

Massive tune from Shimon and Trimer that paves the way for the jaw-dropping EP that’s out now via AudioPorn. Check the heat below and lock your copy of this dank thriller here.
