A Dark Machine is a fully immersive experience with an intention to tap into the human mind and challenge listeners on an experimental dancefloor-driven journey unlike any other. While the album thoroughly showcases a wide variety of bass music, ShockOne also pays homage to the ’80s with synth-heavy beats, an era that he says has always inspired his artistic journey. While the album also incorporates a heavy dose of drum & bass that’s he’s known for, ShockOne maintains the exploration of trap, dubstep, hip-hop, and of course, synth-wave.
