Ed Rush comes correct with the second release on his Piranha Pool imprint from the three-headed beast from France known as Signs. Having been on an absolute tear since surfacing on imprints like C4C, Ram, and Eatbrain last year, the crew seem determined to redefine the very genetic structure of the genre with their unique take on the neurofunk sound.
“Clockout” is one that’s been causing a huge stir in VIP circles as it winds things up into a monstrously aggressive tailspin before pulling out at the last moment and dipping into a steady alien beat that stomps and kicks in all the right places. The drop alone is worth the price of admission, and brings on the shivers with a haunting vocal and worm-like hook that cuts right to the core.
On the flip, the aptly titled “Acid Test” emerges from the same dark corner of the universe and wastes no time bringing on strychnine-laced beats and a frantic, techno-driven wall of heat. If you’re a fan of Mefjus and Emperor then this one is sure to be a new favorite, as it brings on the face-melt and rewires the synapses all in one aggressive blow.
Released on July 17 so be sure to lock yours in now! Until then, feast your ears on this special Blackout podcast the crew just turned in with both “Clockout” and “Acid Test” featured in the mix.
