Snails is an artist whose music truly has no boundaries. After spending years crafting music featuring the most grimy sounds and unrelenting bass imaginable, his “vomitstep” sound found a home on labels such as OWSLA, Dim Mak and Monstercat. Singles like “The Light,” “WFSU” and “Only Want U” set the stage for his game-changing debut album, The Shell, which served as a testimony to exactly who Snails is as an artist.
Now, the Canadian producer recently partnered with popular bass DJ Boogie T on a brand new single, “Redline,” which is a bass-oriented track featuring electric guitar riffs and funky vocals. The two DJs experiment with an extra-heavy, instrumental-driven sound on the new release, delivering a reverberating bassline and massive drop with lacerating synths. The track is positioned to be more of an upbeat, dancefloor-friendly single, which follows Snails’ melodic bass release “Magnets” with Zeds Dead and Akylla.
Released on his Slugz Music imprint, Snails continues to expand the scope of the label by pulling in diverse collaborations that still remain true to his signature sound. As if that wasn’t enough, Snails is currently making the rounds on his massive North American tour with his brand-new stage The Shell 2.0 in tow. Described as a “holographic bass music experience powered by groundbreaking production,” there’s no doubt Snails continues to raise the bar in all that he sets his mind to.
