Following his previous “Skeleton Key” release on Buygore Records’ Fresh Blood sub-label, SubDocta drops a new attention-grabbing track, “Hypnosis.” The producer’s latest bass anthem reminds us of the classic dubstep sound of Borgore while still throwing down his unique mix of dubstep, trap and hybrid style too odd for the typical nightclub scene. SubDocta opens the track with a slow-burning intro centered on an intensified build that boasts roaring synths and deep vibrations. Before you know it, the tune dives into deep phlegmatic wobbles and ravenous rhythms while delivering a smooth blend of metallic sounds, speaker rattling basslines, and eerie melodies paired with quick “I can’t help myself” vocal cuts.
Citing influences ranging from Ganja White Night to Rusko, it’s obvious that SubDocta is also pulling on his love of gangster rap, heavy metal and punk. It’s his eclectic taste and production skills that have not only have landed him performances at major festivals and releases on labels such as MalLabel and ShadowtrixMusic, but have led to support from the likes of Bassnectar on his tracks.
With “Hypnosis” paving the way, it looks like it will be a busy year for SubDocta since he just announced a North American tour with Dirt Monkey on his Rise of The Octopeel tour presented by SubCarbon Records. Until then, keep a lookout for this producer’s forthcoming singles, EPs and heavy performances as SubDocta is on his way up and lock in your own copy of “Hypnosis” here.
