Canada’s own Subject 31 returns to Prime Audio and follows up his Flow EP by packing the heat into the newly released Insomniac EP. Rammed with nine tracks, the EP showcases the producer’s uniquely crafted sound that has turned heads and earned him releases on big name labels like Mechanoid Audio and Capital Boom.
The title track sets the bar high for the rest of the project, hinting at some sinister vibes before its raw mech-bassline delivers a knockout sucker-punch sure to leave you floored. “Careless” keeps the energy high with an addictive hook that leads into a bouncy drop before “Burnt” grinds out the tech-driven bass.
Collaborating with Aweminus on “Salmon,” the two conjure up some eerie vibes that lead into an adrenaline-infused, relentless drop that produces an impressive and effortless marriage between the two heavyweights. “Frontin” features some of the heaviest hitting bass on the whole project as Subject 31 moves in for the kill with some serious spine-chilling bombs. Closing things out proper, “Delusional” is nothing short of a barbaric track that takes things into another level of bass oblivion with its ruthless bass that rattles to all the way to the core with no mercy.
