Taxman’s trademark rough-and-tumble production style has helped shepherd him through the transition from True Playaz to Real Playaz. His latest, the Creepshow EP, sports six very special tunes once held on the USB sticks of only a chosen few.
The title track features a kitschy ‘80s horror film sample with high-energy drums and a Taxman-styled bassline. The “Falling Down” VIP also gives his fanbase a healthy dose of retro flavor and plenty of front-and-center dancefloor vibes. Switching it up, “Reprezent” delves a bit deeper with rolling and persistent bass energy before “Nightshade” delivers a wicked jungle vibe centered on a relentless and rumbling low end. But the gem of the EP is arguably the drum & bass remix of “All For Nothing,” featuring the goosebump-inducing vocals of Ms. Inner City Life herself, Diane Charlemagne.
