With their Too Deep EP being Dispatch Recordings’ best-selling release of 2014, the duo known as Gerra & Stone return to the fold after a series of high-profile releases on imprints like Ram and ProgRam. As clips of their highly-anticipated Unbreakable EP continue to be posted through the usual channels and promos are going out to VIP selectors around the world, the EP has already been causing a stir with support raining in from the likes of S.P.Y., Calyx & TeeBee, Technimatic, and London Elektricity.
Those names alone should clue you in that the vibes the EP is bringing are on the tech-tinged soulful tip, done up in that inimitable way that Gerra & Stone have claimed as their own. From the epic title track—featuring piano interludes from Stephen McCleery paired with the folksy vocal hook of Lucy Kitchen—on through to the gritty “Plates” or blissed-out “Tender Touch,” the five-track EP showcases the broad range of emotions that Gerra & Stone are capable of conjuring up with seemingly effortless ease. Don’t just take our word for it as Lenzman himself reveals that not only does he “love the EP,” but tunes like “Almost U” “makes girls throw their panties at [him] most of the times [he] plays it.”
While we can’t promise similar results, we do know that the EP drops today, so head over to the Dispatch shop and let your friends know you’re bringing the summertime vibes with you when you stop by over the weekend.
