Tech Itch, Decoder, Optical, Fortran, Elementz of Noize, Future Forces, Genotype, Dom & Roland… I could go on and on but if those names mean anything to you then prepare for the warehouse flashbacks as Teksteppa lives up to his name and brings on the classic ‘97-‘99 techstep vibes with his latest release for the Cymbalism crew.
“Forgotten Technology” brings on that classic Prototype vibe with a crunchy two-step beat and forbidding atmosphere that lets you know you’re about to enter some dark and heavy territory. The technoid hook and shuffling call and response between the elements keep this one firing on all cylinders throughout.
“Hiroshima Bomb” takes things a bit deeper at first, bringing on those acid-laced Metalheadz vibes with twisted jazzy atmospheres before cutting the amens loose and letting them run wild. The tension on this one is nice as the dreamy vibe at the core battles for supremacy on an otherwise dark and nightmare-tinged tune.
Wicked sounds from the UK-based Teksteppa. No firm release date set yet so keep your eyes peeled and put these clips from Cymbalism on repeat.
