Returning to Dispatch LTD with their second solo release on the imprint, Tephra and Arkoze have been hard at work refining their sound in the studio. With their Ascertain EP flying in under the radar before busting out with those who know, Tephra and Arkoze are names to watch in 2018 as their latest EP elevates the game to an entirely new level.
Still mining the deep and heavy tech-driven rollers that helped make their name, the aptly titled Evolution EP features the crew flexing in a most impressive way. Vocalists like Charli Brix and Hillzy join in on two of the cuts, bringing an untouchable sense of soul and melancholy to the proceedings with “Suddenly” specifically catching the eye of Rene LaVice and being featured on BBC Radio 1. With each cut exploring the crisp intricacies of the dancefloor experience, it’s bits like “Kamino” and “The Shaman” that bring on the heavyweight bass crush sure to have you grinding it out to stone-cold grooves these are kicking.
