Master of the inimitable mix of melodious beats and brutal basslines, the German scientist known as Virtual Riot returns with a wicked potion of bass on his Chemistry EP for Disciple Recordings.
Everyone’s favorite masked menace, FuntCase, drops in on “Borg” for a massacre of a tune that starts off tame but quickly takes the plunge into a ruthless drop. Just when you thought it couldn’t get heavier, the two conjure up a second, even harder drop that hints at what’s in store for the rest of the project. Don’t say you weren’t warned!
Keeping up the energy, ShockOne collaborates on “Showdown,” a tune that goes straight for the jugular with heavy, headbang-worthy bass bombs. “Leave It Behind” features Ash Riser for some harmonious, vintage-inspired vocals that lull you in before none other than 12th Planet jumps on the track with a stabbing bassline that hits in all the right spots. Finishing things off on a strong note is another collaboration with label mate Dubloadz on “Juices.” The tune builds gradually before the bass overload rushes through your speakers and has you calling out the “What the fuck?” hook.
