Fresh off of NGHTMRE and Slander’s label, Gud Vibrations, WAVEDASH drop their latest track, “Whiplash,” which will be featured on their forthcoming Opening Ceremony EP. The trio is kicking off the New Year strong with this one, serving up a heavy dose of their signature bass sounds.
“Whiplash” takes listeners on a wild ride from the moment the track opens, with foreboding, cinematic chords that seem to warn listeners to stay on the toes. WAVEDASH seamlessly switch gears several times during the length of the track, with grimy, filthy drops that create a frenzied dancefloor killer.
“‘Whiplash’ is a track that underwent more changes than we can even remember,” says the group. “The end product was something we were hoping would appeal to DJs and listeners alike, and we’re really excited with how it came out.”
After listening to WAVEDASH’s genre of heavy bass music, it’s quickly evident why their debut, “Bang,” was picked up as a release on Skrillex’s OWSLA. They’ve since made a name for themselves with official remixes of DJ Snake’s “Ocho Cinco” and Excision’s “Final Boss.” They’ve also performed at some of the biggest festivals, such as EDC Las Vegas, Beyond Wonderland and Nocturnal Wonderland. 2018 was a monstrous year for the trio, who collaborated with NGHTMRE on “Grave” and Slander on “Move Back,” but that was only the beginning. After teasing a variety of sounds from their upcoming EP, WAVEDASH are promising a sonic journey full of the heaviest and filthiest bass music out there for 2019.
